In our ongoing commitment to foster community development and engagement under the YES Project in partnership with the European Union, recent initiative has showcased significant progress in addressing local needs and challenges. This newsletter highlights the launch of the new skate park in Nhlambeni and Siphocosini.
LAUNCH OF THE NEW SKATE PARKS
We are excited to announce the successful launch of two new skate parks in the vibrant communities of Nhlambeni and Siphocosini. This initiative aims to engage youth in the constructive activities and promote healthy lifestyles through skateboarding.
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SKATE PARKS
The skate parks serve as essential recreational spaces for young people. They provide a safe environment for individuals to practice their skills, socialize, and express themselves creatively. By offering designated areas for skateboarding, we not only encourage physical activity but also cultivate a sense of community and belonging among the youth.
LAUNCH DETAILS
The official opening ceremony for the skate parks took place in different dates which are 2s1st of May 2025 we launched at Nhlambeni and on the 28th of May we launched the other one at Siphocosini, drawing community members, local leaders, and enthusiastic skaters. The event celebrated the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including local government and community organizations. Community members played a vital role in the planning and development of the skate parks. Their input ensured that the facilities meet the needs and preference of local youth.
EMASWATI SKATE DONATION
A notable highlight of the launch was the generous donation of the skate gear by Emaswati Skate, a local organization dedicated to promoting skateboarding in Eswatini. This donation included skateboards, helmets, and protective gear, making it possible for youth from all backgrounds to participate.
